Australians consume the equivalent of 960 Olympic-sized swimming pools of sugary drinks every year, giving the country one of the highest obesity rates in the world.
Effervescent and ubiquitous, these 2.4 billion litres of sweet drinks are contributing to a growing public health crisis, fuelling calls from doctors and nutrition experts for the introduction of a sugar tax in Australia.
