Specialist anaesthetist and clinical director at Royal North Shore hospital, Dr Michelle Mulligan, has a short, effective message to those considering flouting the public health rules.

"Over the years, I've witnessed my share of people who think they can buy or manipulate their way out of problems," she said on Thursday as she showed The Australian Financial Review how RNS staff have worked around the clock over the past week to prepare the hospital for a possible sudden influx of COVID-19 patients.
