Business Council rejects legislating fee-free TAFE

One of the strongest backers of the federal government’s fee-free TAFE policy has drawn the line at baking the policy into legislation, saying there is not enough evidence the $1.5 billion investment translates into properly skilled workers.

The Business Council of Australia says proposed legislation to ensure 100,000 “free” TAFE places from 2027 should be rejected “on principle”.
