The United States praised Australia's leading role in combating Huawei and declared victory over the Chinese telecommunications giant in Europe, once again putting the Morrison government in a difficult position with its biggest trading partner.
Keith Krach, the Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment at the State Department said Australia's early stance against Huawei had informed and shaped US policy.
