Albanese pushes back on Chinese live fire but talks up trade

Beijing | Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed concerns to President Xi Jinping about China’s recent live-fire military exercises near Australian waters as the Chinese leader told him the uncertain global landscape should not be allowed to derail the improving China-Australia relationship.

Xi Jinping welcomed the prime minister to Beijing for their fourth face-to-face meeting as Albanese signalled Australia will pursue changes to modernise its free trade agreement with Beijing.
