Huawei: Will Britain blink, or are the Five Eyes in trouble?

London | Britain has vowed not to make any move that might corrode its "Five Eyes" intelligence-sharing network, in a sign that US and Australian pressure on London not to allow Chinese telco giant Huawei into the British 5G network might be paying off.

The US has repeatedly warned that the British government’s less stringent approach to Huawei as a 5G player could undermine Washington’s confidence in Britain’s ability to keep secrets from China. That’s because Beijing can legally compel Huawei to co-operate in its security agencies’ penetration or disruption work.
