Some $3.3 billion of new large-scale renewable projects got the go-ahead for construction in the three months to the end of September, in a significant rebound that gives a glimmer of hope Australia can still reach its 2030 climate targets.

The investments, representing more than 1400 megawatts of capacity, comprised the healthiest data for commitments to new renewables projects since late 2022, said Kane Thornton, chief executive of the Clean Energy Council, the peak body for the industry, which will officially release the figures on Monday.
