Queensland’s CS Energy splashes on $1.3b wind farm

State-owned CS Energy is buying a large wind farm ready for construction in central Queensland as the Steven Miles Labor government seeks to stave off a looming election defeat by fleshing out a pledge to splash $26 billion on clean energy.

CS Energy, one of two main generating companies owned by the state, has agreed to buy the 285-megawatt Lotus Creek Wind Farm from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP). The price was undisclosed.
