Travellers are bracing for further delays after violent weather from a “bomb cyclone” forced Sydney Airport to close two of its three runways on Tuesday and more extreme wind and rain was forecast for Wednesday.
Virgin Australia cancelled 12 flights in the morning, followed by a further 14 flights in the afternoon when two runways were closed for safety reasons.
