Innovators think big on solar-powered mansions

Whether it’s installing solar panels on a $30 million home in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, or crunching the numbers to convince a company to invest millions into a commercial solar and battery solution, energy entrepreneurs are cashing in on underserved segments of the market.

Australia has the world’s highest penetration of rooftop solar per capita, but only 10 per cent of Australia’s solar panels were installed in commercial and industrial locations. Similarly, wealthy suburbs are less likely to have solar panels installed than homes in the suburban mortgage belt.
