‘Get your house in order’: Watt slams Coalition over environment talks

Environment Minister Murray Watt has accused the Coalition of being in disarray over Labor’s overhaul of Australia’s environment laws, saying at least three MPs had come to him claiming to represent the Coalition in negotiations.

After Nationals Senate leader Bridget McKenzie demanded last-minute amendments to shield farmers from the powers of a National Environmental Protection Agency, Watt said he felt like he was dealing with two parties – the Liberals and the Nationals.
