Former Sun Cable chief executive David Griffin will take the top job at modular solar panel pioneer 5B as its rapid rollout accelerates from developing the latest version of its technology, to selling it at scale.

The appointment is rich with irony because Mr Griffin’s role as seed investor and director of 5B – a preferred supplier to Sun Cable – was reportedly a sticking point for Sun Cable’s one-time backer, iron ore billionaire Andrew Forrest.
