Cost blowouts and construction delays pose huge challenges for what should be a new era for nuclear energy to provide secure and clean power, the International Energy Agency says.

In findings that underscore the risks around the Peter Dutton-led Coalition’s nuclear energy policy, the Paris-based organisation said financing also posed a significant hurdle to the sector’s forecast comeback to underpin global efforts to reach net zero emissions.
