BHP, South32 take global lead on emissions as most lag

Mining companies BHP and South32 get top marks as two of the few companies globally to have set zero net emissions targets, while Rio Tinto and Boral have been applauded for making progress.

Climate Change 100+, which involves 360 investors with $34 trillion in assets, released a progress report on Wednesday on emissions-abatement strategies by the world’s 161 biggest corporate carbon polluters, including 13 in Australia.
