Since the prime minister called for new ideas and promised to look with fresh eyes at the many productivity-oriented reform proposals that have withered in the toxic atmosphere of partisanship, many fine phrases have been turned.

Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese is calling for "an economy that works for people, not the other way around". Tony Abbott has reminded us that "economics is a means to that goal of human flourishing, not an end in itself".
