Voice priorities ‘based on trust’ rather than legislation

Indigenous Australians Minister Linda Burney has signalled the four key priorities for the Voice to parliament she outlined will not be enshrined in legislation and will be “based on trust” instead.

In a speech on Wednesday, Ms Burney revealed she would ask the proposed Indigenous advisory body for urgent advice on the key priority areas of health, education, jobs and housing, if it is approved by voters.
