Massive increases in the cost of packaging, shipping and equipment for Perth’s Filament Coffee have prompted its owners to rethink how they get their cold brew to customers without charging them more.

The small business, founded by former corporate accountants Aaron Ellwood and Brendan Gillam, is confronting a 60 per cent increase in the cost of cans, and a 20 per cent hike in labelling costs since the pandemic, while gas and other input prices have also surged.
