Restaurateur offered $13k to attract workers, but no one applied

Melbourne restaurateur Liam Ganley was so desperate for staff he offered young Brits free flights, accommodation and sponsorship – worth about $13,000 in total – but did not get a single applicant.
“Some of the decisions made here are finally catching up with us,” Mr Ganley told AFR Weekend, referring to Victoria’s long COVID-19 lockdown.
