Renters return to the office for warmth as power bills skyrocket
Port Adelaide renter Shay Leach’s unit is so cold she’s considered buying a reverse cycle air conditioner in a property she doesn’t own.
Leach said she and her partner had a robust conversation after last winter when they received a $1400 quarterly power bill after having relied on a space heater to stay warm in their “100-year-old” warehouse apartment that has no insulation.
