Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers has put fixing long-term unemployment as a priority on the government’s Jobs and Skills Summit agenda, as new Treasury analysis reveals too many people are stuck in the dole queue.
Men, older people and less educated jobseekers are more likely to become long-term unemployed, Treasury said in a new discussion paper published ahead of the two-day summit next week.
