Labor's bullying laws turned on union pickets

Carlton & United Breweries has for the first time used the Fair Work Act's anti-bullying laws to ban union officials from using the words "scab", "rat", "dog", "f---wit" or "c----". However, an inflatable rat nicknamed "Scabby" has thus far escaped censure.

The Fair Work Commission issued the interim orders late last week banning Electrical Trades Union and Australian Manufacturing Workers Union officials from directing insults and offensive signs towards the alternative workforce at Carlton & United Breweries' site in Abbotsford, Victoria
