As Trump puts in place measures to implement a 25 per cent tariff on certain Mexican and Canadian goods, and 10 per cent on all imports from China, Canada and Mexico wasted no time in announcing their own retaliatory tariffs.
While nothing specific has come out of Beijing, it has announced it plans to challenge the tariff at the WTO and would take countermeasures.
