Peter Dutton’s economic platform is big on principles and small on policies, and that’s unlikely to change before the election.

Dutton has no intention of “going big” from opposition in the manner of Liberal leader John Hewson’s 15 per cent GST tax reform package in the 1993 “unlosable” election, or Bill Shorten’s failed tax-and-spend gambit in 2019.
