ALP powerbroker Jim Soorley was hired to help “community engagement and government consultation” on a politically charged development in Queensland while he was barred from being a lobbyist.
The former Brisbane lord mayor was retained for “advice” on areas including on government consultation, rather than lobbying, according to a developer building apartments in the electorate of then ALP Queensland deputy premier Jackie Trad.
