Critics wrong about our clean energy ‘superpower’ plan picking winners

We share concerns about arbitrary government intervention, but our carbon pricing model is designed to minimise those risks.

We take comfort from the considerable discussion in The Australian Financial Review since our National Press Club presentation on Australia’s “superpower” opportunity that informed opinion agrees at least on the need for carbon pricing.

In criticising our proposals, the Financial Review’s economics editor, John Kehoe, emphasised the risks of arbitrary interventions which can result in wasted resources and rent-seeking behaviour.
