Money manager Challenger Group has lured Reserve Bank of Australia executive Jonathan Kearns to its ranks, creating a new role for the central banker as chief economist.

Dr Kearns, currently the RBA’s head of domestic markets, will also join the group’s investment committee, adding his quarter-century of macroeconomic expertise.
