US giants lash Labor’s tax crackdown amid Trump trade war

Major American companies have complained to the US trade office over Labor’s tax crackdown on multinationals and other trade grievances, giving President Donald Trump potential leverage in the next round of tariff negotiations with the federal government.

Technology entrepreneurs, farmers, pharmaceutical giants and other groups representing American businesses are lobbying the US Trade Representative (USTR) about their beef with Australia on cross-border trade, investment and other commercial matters.
