Government's response to ASIC review half-pregnant but better than nothing
Verona BurgessGovernment Business ColumnistIt is a pity that the Chester capability review of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission has been conflated with the government's panicked reaction to Bill Shorten's call for a royal commission into the banks.
It is a first-class report and a fine model for reviews of the other two key economic regulators – the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority.
