Shanghai | The founder of Chinese telecom giant Huawei has launched a rare public defence of his beleaguered company, denying it would ever comply to a request by the Chinese government to share confidential information about foreign companies which buy its equipment.
Ren Zhengfei gave his most direct public response so far to growing concerns amongst security agencies in Australia and elsewhere that Huawei could be used to spy for the ruling Communist Party.
