SA power crisis may spread to NSW as heatwave hits

The power supply crisis that is crippling South Australia is threatening to spread to the eastern states with the national energy regulator warning there could be black-outs in NSW by Friday afternoon unless more generation capacity comes online.

With an unprecedented heatwave hitting the east coast of Australia, power networks are struggling to deal with increased power usage as households and businesses crank up their energy use, including air-conditioners, to deal with the sweltering heat.
