Energy experts have urged the Morrison government to tighten up its Climate Solutions Fund to ensure big polluters are penalised so Australia can reach its 2030 emissions reduction targets.

While most in the energy sector were preparing for more action on climate change under a Shorten Labor government, they are now preparing for "business as usual" under the returned Coalition government.
