RBA paper says lack of job security causing low wage growth

Reserve Bank of Australia economists have raised the possibility that "surprisingly" low wage growth is due to declining bargaining power arising from an increase in part-time jobs.

The March analysis from the central bank's economic research department admitted its wage growth forecasts had been "persistently too strong" for at least the last five years and traditional labour market factors could not fully explain the errors.
