Dow resets record high, S&P 500 drifts lower

The Dow reset its record closing high paced by Chevron and Visa, while both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite ended modestly lower. The latest personal income and spending data added evidence to the Federal Reserve’s optimism about a soft landing.
