Tech offsets miners to help ASX edge higher

A surge in a number of local tech stocks helped to offset weakness from the major miners on Tuesday, pushing the Australian sharemarket slightly higher.
The S&P/ASX 200 Index rose just 2.9 points, or 0.04 per cent, to 6976.9 as it rebounded from a loss in the previous session and struggled to reclaim a new 13-month high.
