L1 Capital plots new activist strategy
Melbourne's L1 Capital is less than a month away from unleashing a new dedicated fund seeking out activist investment ideas at the top end of the Australian sharemarket.
L1 has brought in ex-Flagstaff Partners deal maker James Hawkins to lead the fund, L1 Catalyst, collaborating with the investment research team on long-only opportunities that offer the kind of returns that are usually the domain of private equity or deep value strategies.
