The Australian sharemarket closed at a record high on Thursday, with strong gains from the real estate and tech stocks offsetting a fall in the energy and travel sectors.
The S&P/ASX 200 Index advanced 32.3 points, or 0.4 per cent, to 7302.5, breaching the 7300 threshold for the first time at the close. The benchmark index was not able to achieve a new intraday, however, falling short of the 7334.9 point mark it hit on Wednesday.
