ASX to rise, Tesla and Apple pace techs higher

Australian shares are poised to rise, in line with an extended rally in New York after Tesla and Apple pressed higher. Local investors await the Reserve Bank’s policy decision at 2.30pm.
The S&P 500 rose 0.8 per cent to 5473.23. The Nasdaq Composite added 1 per cent to 17,857.02. Tesla rallied 5.3 per cent; Apple gained 2 per cent. The NYSE Fang + Index of megacap techs finished up 1.8 per cent.
