ASX hits record high as economy completes rebound

The Australian sharemarket rose to a new record on Wednesday, supported by advances from mining and energy stocks, as the economy marked its complete recovery from its COVID-19 induced slump.
The S&P/ASX 200 Index rose 75.2 points, or 1.1 per cent, to 7217.8, beating its previous record close of 7179.5. During the session, it hit an intraday record of 7218.9.
