US equities reset record highs on growth bet

All three major US equity benchmarks reset record highs as investors bet that a second term in office for Donald Trump will lead to accelerated growth. Tesla lifted 14.8 per cent.
The Dow closed 1508 points higher at 4pm, rising 3.6 per cent on the day. The S&P 500 rose 2.5 per cent to trade above and close above 5900 for the first time at 5929.04. The Nasdaq Composite added 3 per cent to 18,983.46.
