Dutton puts CFMEU’s future on the election agenda

Peter Dutton has made the future of the CFMEU an election issue by pledging to deregister the union if he wins office, as well as re-establish the construction industry watchdog.

In doing so, Mr Dutton said the Coalition would seek to rekindle key elements of its Ensuring Integrity Bill, which it tried to pass when last in government and that was designed to make it easier to deregister unions and disqualify rogue officials.
