Canberra consulting firms cash in on demise of the big four
Canberra’s boutique consulting firms have cashed in on the federal government’s cold war against big consulting, winning a fourfold increase in new work in the final quarter of last year compared with the same quarter in 2022
Amid the fallout from the PwC tax scandal, federal agencies have cut spending with the big four consulting firms PwC, KPMG, Deloitte and EY by more than 40 per cent. AusTender data reveals the big four’s quarterly federal consultancy work fell from $36.8 million in Q4 2022 to $21.8 million in Q4 2023.
