Everyone agrees it’s a stock picker’s market. And Bank of America’s equity and quant guru, Savita Subramanian, has a simple idea on how to navigate it.
In an era where higher hurdle rates and protectionism are changing which ideas get funded in public market, Subramanian suggests turning away from tech and growth, and focusing on the stocks that have been starved of capital for a decade or more, either because they were shunned for GFC-related problems (financial services firms, home builders and manufacturers) or because of environmental concerns (commodity producers, including fossil-fuel giants.)
