Solomon Islands has complained an Australian offer to help fund his country’s elections amounts to “foreign interference”, adding further friction to ties between Canberra and Honiara.

The government said it had complained to the Australian High Commission over Foreign Minister Penny Wong’s offer, which was revealed by The Australian Financial Review on Tuesday.
