Greens open to backing Labor’s 43pc emission target

Greens leader Adam Bandt has indicated his party could back Labor’s 43 per cent emissions reduction target in parliament, but four key issues including no new coal and gas projects would dominate negotiations.
After initially labelling Labor’s target “weak”, Mr Bandt indicated he was open to backing it after several environmental groups called on the party not to stand in the way of the legislation.
