Barnett ‘right on’ Scarborough tanking Labor’s 2030 goal, says Bandt
Greens leader Adam Bandt has urged Labor to ditch its “my way or the highway approach” to climate policy and warned that waving through gas projects such as Scarborough in WA and the NT’s Beetaloo would overwhelm the new government’s already “weak” emissions targets.
Describing as a “good start” Prime Minister Anthony Albanese pledge in Tokyo on Tuesday to work with the international community on climate change, Mr Bandt said it would soon become clear to Labor that “that means having a plan to deal with coal and gas”.
