McGowan defends Scarborough gas project for lowering emissions
West Australian Premier Mark McGowan and Woodside have dismissed any threat to the state’s Scarborough gas project, which the Greens say is a prime example of an investment that should be scrapped in light of Saturday’s federal election.
Mr McGowan said he supported “further action on climate” but indicated that cancelling the $16.5 billion project off his state’s coast was not an option.
