Why Morrison’s corruption body won’t mimic NSW’s premier-slaying ICAC

With chaos in the air at Parliament House this week, Scott Morrison launched a stinging attack on the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption, rallying dispirited and divided MPs against a great common enemy of conservatives.

After days on the backfoot in question time, the Prime Minister defended Gladys Berejiklian over her ousting by a “kangaroo court”. He alleged the former premier had been “done over by a bad process and an abuse”, claiming she had been forced to quit over her boyfriend and not possible breaches of the public trust.
