Less than a third of Australia’s aged care workforce has had a COVID-19 vaccination, months after the Morrison government’s original deadline to protect residents and staff around the country.

It was revealed earlier this month that federal authorities had no way to track vaccination rates in the critical and at-risk sector, prompting a new reporting system to be established by the Department of Health.
