There is no missing Sydney’s shiny new landmark, opened in Barangaroo as the new year rolled in – and in the news again this week after an independent inquiry into Crown Resorts’ suitability to hold a gaming licence tabled its findings. Crown Towers reflects shards of light west across the harbour into the windows of stylish Balmain terraces, shimmers on the horizon from the foreshore of Botany Bay to the south and dissects the Harbour Bridge in views from the north shore.

The architect who designed the 88-storey tower, however, hasn’t clapped eyes on it for more than a year, thanks to COVID-19 travel restrictions.
