Loyalists dump Trump in a divided US

Some of Donald Trump's most loyal supporters have abandoned the US President and he faced growing calls to resign or be kicked out of office, capping the most notorious week of his turbulent four-year presidency.
In a belated conciliatory speech, an increasingly isolated Mr Trump finally conceded he would hand over power to Democratic President-elect Joe Biden in less than two weeks, but he stopped short of acknowledging that he fairly lost the November election.
